Thessaloniki is the venue for a whole variety of conferences – local, national, international and global, catering for both association and corporate customers, NGO’s, etc. and covering a wide variety of subjects and sectors. With its two universities – Aristotle and Macedonia – the city has the facilities to host large numbers of conferences
and conventions. The universities offer their full backing to these events, seeing them as an opportunity to expand their own research activities and to make a contribution to the local community. There are more than 20 hotels which boast their own conference centres, as well as dedicated conference venues like HELEXPO (Ioannis Vellidis and Nikolaos Germanos conference centres) and POLIS – Thessaloniki Convention Centre, with auditoriums seating from 50 to 2,300 persons.
